About Sharon:
I studied a Bachelor of Arts and Higher Diploma of Education in University College Dublin, Ireland before pursuing Interior Design in Griffith College Dublin over 30 years ago. Proudly, I can declare I graduated top of my class with a Distinction. My husband, Peter and I set up Full Circle Design in 2013 in the UAE. We both had decades of experience with international companies. Clients included numerous villas, Palm Island Apartments, Jumeriah Golf Resort, Dubailand theme park, the Holiday Inn Hotel, and the Hyatt Hotel Group.
The company name revealed itself in a brainstorming session over lunch one day in an Irish pub in Dubai! Many names had been previously tossed and turned over but none of them seemed to be the right fit. We mulled over all our previous professional experiences. My career started in teaching and then progressed to residential and commercial interior design, interior showroom sourcing and sales, marketing, and project management. I had come full circle in my career so Full Circle Design was founded with the focus on teaching interior design combined with interior design consultancy on private projects.
The company quickly gained a reputation as the place to go for interior design training through its 1- day workshops and 4- week courses. Learning was conducted in a motivating, inspiring, fun environment and was attended by students aged 16 to 60+years. Full Circle Design was an approved member of IARC which is a quality control system for international education which recognizes quality and excellence in education. Thousands of students successfully learned how to complete their own home projects and several even set up their own reputable interior design businesses.
Fast forward to 2019, Peter and I moved back to Ireland. I returned to teaching while renovating my house in Dublin and then we secured our dream home in Co. Wicklow, Ireland, a Victorian detached house with mature gardens. It was a doer-upper, so it tested my design skills to the max! After decades of slick, contemporary designs in the Middle East, I developed a grá (Irish for ‘love’) for vintage, antiques, upcycling, and the delicate balancing act of mixing old and new to inject real character into interior spaces.
In early 2024, I felt the time was right to set up a company in Ireland, modelled on the success of the UAE company. Full Circle Interior Design was relaunched with a brand-new look and offerings.
In my free time, I like to have fun with family and friends, walk in the Wicklow mountains, travel off the beaten path, read in the garden at sunset while sipping wine and play with my mischievous rescued Arabian cat Misha!
